Jerome Powell is a central banker who is a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and was its chair from February 5, 2018 to May 22, 2026. He first joined the Board on May 25, 2012, and his current term as governor runs to January 31, 2028. In April 2026 he said he would remain on the Board after his chairmanship ended.
