Apple Launches $299 HomeView Hub, Home Collection and $149 HomePod mini 2

Apple unveiled the $299 HomeView smart home hub at its Welcome Home event, with pre-orders open and availability beginning November 13. It also launched the Apple Home Collection, built in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric and arriving from December, and the $149 HomePod mini 2, shipping October 30.

AAPL unveiled HomeView on Tuesday, a smart home hub built around Siri AI, priced at $299 in the U.S. Pre-orders opened the same day and availability begins November 13. HomeView has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and the A18 chip. The tabletop version comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, while the wall-mounted version comes in space gray and silver. Customers in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK and the U.S. can pre-order it, but it is not for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there.

Apple positions HomeView as a shared device that still feels personal: it recognizes household members by their faces, and Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said it is "designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user". Audio comes from two custom full-range drivers in the display, with a down-firing woofer built into the tabletop base. One caveat for buyers: Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2.

The Apple Home Collection was designed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. It spans indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, thermostats and temperature sensors, with U.S. prices starting at $39.95 for the temperature sensors and reaching $399.95 for the LG Floodlight Cam. Availability for all products begins in December, with select accessories arriving in early 2027, so the accessories trail the hub by weeks or months. Many features require a compatible home hub such as HomeView, HomePod or Apple TV.

The same event also brought the HomePod mini 2, priced at $149 and shipping October 30, with pre-orders open now. It is powered by the S10 chip, and Siri AI is due through a future software update, with Apple giving no date for it.

What to watch: early pre-order demand and reviews ahead of November 13, how quickly Siri AI leaves beta and whether it reaches the EU, and whether Home Collection pricing and the December timing draw buyers into the Apple home ecosystem. The announcements do not quantify expected sales, so any financial impact for Apple may be hard to size for now.
