Apple Reportedly Plans Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro and OLED iPad Mini for Around Oct. 27, After Confirmed Oct. 13 Launch

Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak confirmed a product launch for Tuesday, October 13, which Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports will bring a smart home hub with a roughly 6-inch square display. Gurman also reports Apple will introduce its first touchscreen MacBook Pro models, with OLED displays, alongside an OLED iPad mini on or around October 27. Apple has not confirmed the October 27 products, and every report traces to Bloomberg.
AAPL has two product moments lined up this month, one confirmed and one reported. Marketing chief Greg Joswiak announced a launch for Tuesday, October 13. Apple says it will not be a traditional event: media are invited to New York City for hands-on time and products will come via press release. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports the centerpiece is a smart home hub with a roughly 6-inch square display, Siri control of HomeKit devices and a design that recalls the iMac G4, at around $350. A leaker and code found in macOS 26.7 point to four colors.
The bigger launch is reported, not confirmed. Gurman says Apple will introduce new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens, a Dynamic Island and M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, plus an OLED iPad mini with a relocated camera and revamped speakers, on or around October 27. Apple is also expected to refresh the entry 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac with M6 chips. Rumors of a touchscreen MacBook Pro date back to 2023, and this would be Apple's first touchscreen laptop.
Gurman has refined what the redesign means: the new MacBook Pros are significantly lighter, but he said on October 7 that he does not expect them to be significantly thinner, which preserves ports, battery life and thermal headroom for pro users. Every outlet covering the October 27 lineup is relaying Gurman's reporting, so the date and product list should be treated as a single-source report until Apple sends invitations.
What to watch: whether Apple formally announces an October 27 event, pricing for the touchscreen MacBook Pro, and early reception of the home hub on October 13 as Apple's first new product category in its smart home push.
