Blackstone (BX) reported third-quarter 2026 distributable earnings of $1.7 billion, or $1.32 per share, $0.03 above the $1.29 analyst estimate, while revenue of $3.06 billion fell short of the $3.35 billion consensus. GAAP net income was $1.3 billion. Total assets under management rose 10% year over year to a record $1,368.3 billion, about $1.4 trillion, on $63.3 billion of quarterly inflows, and $271.6 billion over the last twelve months per the company's release.

The fee engine did the work. Fee revenues rose 8% to $2.7 billion, base management fees reached a record, and fee-related earnings grew 6% to $1.6 billion, or $1.26 per share. Private wealth assets hit a record $330 billion, up 15%, and insurance AUM rose 14% to more than $300 billion. Realizations were the soft spot: net realizations fell 20% from the prior quarter in volatile markets with higher rates, and the BCRED private credit vehicle saw $1.4 billion of net outflows, though management said it expects a significant increase in realizations in the fourth quarter. President Jon Gray said AI-related investments account for about 7% of the roughly $1.4 trillion asset base across debt and equity, and that data centers and logistics together make up 54% of the global real estate portfolio, where opportunistic BREP funds declined 3.2% in the quarter while Core Plus funds gained 1.6%.

Investors focused on the fundraising and fee momentum rather than the revenue miss: the shares rose as much as 8.6% intraday and closed up about 8.3% at $118.69 on Oct. 22. Blackstone declared a dividend of $1.12 per share. The points to watch are whether the promised Q4 rebound in realizations arrives, whether private-wealth flows hold up given the BCRED outflows, and how the data-center-heavy real estate book performs as AI capex sentiment swings.
