BNY reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $5.68 billion, up 12% from a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share of $2.34, up 24%. Bloomberg said the profit beat estimates. StockStory put the revenue beat at 2.1% against an analyst estimate of $5.56 billion, and said GAAP EPS was 3% above a consensus of $2.27. The company's own adjusted EPS, which excludes notable items, was $2.37.

Fee revenue of $4.078 billion rose 12%, which BNY attributed mainly to net new business, higher client activity and higher market values, while net interest income of $1.423 billion rose 15% on the reinvestment of investment securities at higher yields. Securities Services revenue rose 15% and Market and Wealth Services revenue rose 12%, while Investment and Wealth Management grew 4%.

CEO Vince said the results showed the "resilience and durability" of the business model in an "overall constructive but uneven operating environment," and that sales and pipelines remained very healthy across products, client segments and regions, a theme Bloomberg highlighted in its headline. Against the second quarter, the picture was softer: revenue was flat, net interest income fell 2%, the pre-tax margin eased to 38.5% from 39.8%, and return on tangible common equity was 29.0% versus 31.3%.

BNY returned $1.4 billion to common shareholders in the quarter, including $937 million of share repurchases, and its CET1 ratio was 10.9% versus 11.7% a year earlier. Shares traded up 1.1% to $139.19 immediately after the results, according to StockStory. Investors may watch whether fee growth holds as net interest margin, at 1.43%, slipped 2 basis points from the prior quarter.
