CoreWeave 2032 bond yield tops 16% as debt costs rise ahead of earnings

SentiSense · Published · Updated

The yield on CoreWeave's 9.625% bonds due 2032 rose above 16% this week, according to CNBC, and the company's five-year credit default swaps spiked above 1,289 basis points on Nov. 5. The move comes ahead of the company's third-quarter report, estimated for Nov. 10 after the close, which analysts see as a first test of whether operating profit can cover rising interest costs.

The yield on CoreWeave's 9.625% notes due 2032 has climbed above 16%, CNBC reported on Nov. 6. CoreWeave's five-year credit default swaps spiked above 1,289 basis points on Nov. 5 before easing about 8% the next day, to roughly 1,155. A separate Nov. 7 analysis said some of the company's bonds were quoted above 17%, but that figure traces to a social media post rather than a verified quote; the article's own verified range is about 15% to 16% on Nov. 2.

The context is a broader repricing of AI infrastructure credit. CNBC cited Jefferies' Christopher Wood, who wrote that the most plausible way the AI capex arms race ends is that the credit card is taken away, and noted that credit default swaps for Nvidia, Broadcom and Amazon have also risen over the past month. CNBC also stressed that AI debt financing is not collapsing: Goldman Sachs counted five AI bond deals totaling $67 billion since Oct. 29.

CoreWeave's own numbers explain the market's caution. Total debt including lease liabilities rose from about $2.0 billion at the end of 2023 to $29.8 billion at the end of 2025, and the Nov. 7 analysis points to third-quarter interest expense guidance of $860 million to $940 million against adjusted operating income guidance of $200 million to $260 million. Separately, a technical-analysis piece republished on KuCoin argues that the stock has broken below the neckline of a head-and-shoulders pattern at $63.67; that is the publisher's chart reading, not a settled signal. CoreWeave shares closed at $46.40 on Nov. 6, up 6.3% on the day.

What to watch: CoreWeave's third-quarter report, which SentiSense's calendar lists for Nov. 10 after the close (an estimated date, not company-confirmed), with analysts expecting revenue near $3.54 billion. Investors will look at adjusted operating income relative to interest costs, full-year guidance, and the coupon on any new unsecured bond. This is not investment advice.
