Costco Q4 FY2026 Sales Rise 11.2% to $93.9B, Beating Estimates; Shares Flat to Slightly Lower

COST reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 net sales of $93.873 billion, up 11.2% from a year earlier, with diluted EPS of $6.75 versus $5.87. Total revenue came to $95.72 billion and net income to $3.0 billion . Total comparable sales rose 9.4% on a reported basis and 6.7% after stripping out gasoline-price and foreign-exchange effects.

The beat is real but needs context. EPS included a non-recurring benefit of $0.15 per diluted share from IEEPA tariff refunds , which Costco's release says was partly reinvested in member values. Consensus depends on the tally: a wire post cited $6.56 , MarketBeat cited $6.54, and Reuters reported that analysts expected adjusted EPS of $6.53 per LSEG, against Costco's $6.60 adjusted figure. Reuters also put the revenue estimate at $94.86 billion and the adjusted comparable sales estimate at 6.11%.

The stock reaction was small. Barron's framed it as a beat followed by a lower stock, but Reuters reported shares were flat in extended trading after closing Thursday's regular session down 0.91%.

On the call, CEO Ron Vachris said Costco plans to open 33 warehouses in fiscal 2027, of which 5 are relocations, after 28 openings including 3 relocations in fiscal 2026, and CFO Gary Millerchip guided to about $7.5 billion of capital expenditure versus $6.4 billion. Investors may watch whether comparable sales hold up without the tariff-refund boost and how the faster opening pace affects spending.
