Spot Bitcoin ETFs Log Third Straight Week of Inflows as IBIT Gains and Fidelity's FBTC Bleeds

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $241 million in the week of September 28 to October 2, a third straight week of inflows but a sharp slowdown from about $2.4 billion the prior week, per SoSoValue data reported by CryptoBriefing. BlackRock's IBIT drew $196 million on October 1 alone while Fidelity's FBTC lost about $168 million on the week; XRP and Solana spot ETFs drew $4.74 million and $2.43 million.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $241 million of net inflows in the week of September 28 to October 2, their third consecutive week of inflows, according to SoSoValue data reported by CryptoBriefing. The streak masks a sharp slowdown: the prior week brought about $2.4 billion. Tallies differ, too: Farside's provisional table showed a smaller weekly total of $82.9 million, so the exact figure depends on the data provider. Total net assets across the funds stood at $108.89 billion, with cumulative net inflows of $57.79 billion.

The flows were concentrated in one fund. BlackRock's IBIT took in $196 million on Thursday, October 1, alone, while Fidelity's FBTC lost $61 million that day. By SoSoValue's weekly count, IBIT gathered $450 million while FBTC shed about $168 million, even though both charge a 0.25% fee. IBIT holds about $67 billion, roughly 62% of the category, so the gap reflects scale and liquidity rather than identical products. Part of the midweek weakness, a $149 million group outflow on September 30, was tied to quarter-end rebalancing.

Smaller altcoin funds saw modest demand. XRP spot ETFs drew a net $4.74 million, led by Franklin's XRPZ with $4.065 million, and Solana spot ETFs drew a net $2.43 million, with Grayscale's GSOL and Fidelity's FSOL taking in more than the total as other funds saw outflows. What to watch: whether weekly Bitcoin ETF flows reaccelerate after the post-quarter-end lull, whether FBTC's outflows persist, and whether altcoin ETF demand grows beyond single-digit millions.
