Pricing is the headline. The introductory rate is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens through the end of 2026, half the per-token cost of the prior Flash generation, rising to $1.50 and $7.50 on January 1, 2027 .
The positioning targets the specific failure mode that makes coding agents expensive: models that make unnecessary edits, recover badly from errors, or lose the thread across multi-step plans burn tokens and require human intervention.
