IDEXX Laboratories Beats Revenue and Earnings Estimates, Lifts Profit Outlook
IDEXX Laboratories reported Q2 revenue of $1.22 billion, beating FactSet estimates. The company's earnings also beat estimates by $0.31, driving a stock price increase. Additionally, IDEXX lifted its profit outlook, driven by an increase in veterinary testing volumes.
IDEXX Laboratories (IDXX) reported Q2 2026 revenue of $1.22 billion, up about 10% from $1.11 billion a year earlier and ahead of the $1.20 billion FactSet consensus. Adjusted EPS of $4.27 beat the $3.96 estimate by $0.31.
The beat was driven by growth in veterinary testing volumes, the core demand driver for IDEXX's diagnostics and water-testing businesses. That volume growth gave management enough confidence to raise its full-year outlook rather than simply reaffirm it.
IDEXX now sees FY2026 EPS of $14.69-$14.94, above the $14.66 consensus, and narrowed its FY2026 revenue guidance to $4.70-$4.75 billion against a $4.71 billion consensus. Both the earnings and revenue beats came alongside tighter, higher guidance rather than a one-off quarter.
Shares rose nearly 4% on the news, and the stock outperformed peers in an August 3 trading session ahead of the print.
From here, the key watch items are whether veterinary testing volume growth holds through Q3 and how IDEXX's diagnostics and water-testing segments perform against a maturing companion-animal healthcare market and rising competition from other vet-diagnostics providers.
