Jabil Inaugurates Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Pune, Creating 11,000 Jobs

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, joined by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, inaugurated JBL Jabil's advanced manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon, Pune on June 17, 2026. The facility is designed as an export-centric hub targeting AI data center components, 5G equipment, high-end networking gear, and industrial power systems. The project carries employment potential of up to 11,000 jobs, with Jabil committing to a deep localization program that integrates Indian MSMEs into its global supply chain.

The inauguration comes days after Jabil and Adani Enterprises announced a strategic alliance to build a vertically integrated AI and data center infrastructure manufacturing platform in India, with GW-scale AI rack production aimed at global hyperscaler build-outs. That partnership aligns Jabil's six decades of advanced electronics manufacturing with Adani's infrastructure footprint and green-energy portfolio, and it reflects a broader India-first supply chain narrative from major U.S. EMS players seeking to reduce dependence on China. Jabil has invested over Rs 2,000 crore in India across Silicon Photonics and Electronic Manufacturing Services, and it has been the largest beneficiary under the government's Telecom Production-Linked Incentive scheme, receiving Rs 235.87 crore in incentives over two financial years.

For JBL investors, the Pune facility and the Adani alliance are tangible milestones in Jabil's effort to diversify both geographically and by end market. AI infrastructure is one of the fastest-growing segments in global electronics manufacturing, and anchoring capacity in India positions Jabil to serve hyperscalers looking for non-China sourcing. Key variables to monitor include the pace of customer ramp at Ranjangaon, the formal close of the Adani partnership, and whether India's PLI incentive pipeline continues to offset the capital intensity of building out this capacity.
