Johnson Controls International Guides Higher with Strong Q3 Results

Johnson Controls International is expecting higher financial results with an adjusted EPS of $1.55 in Q4 vs estimates of $1.52. The company also reported strong Q3 results, raising FY26 guidance. Its Q3 adjusted EPS surpassed estimates at $1.42, up from a FactSet estimate of $1.30.

Johnson Controls International (JCI) posted fiscal third quarter 2026 results ahead of Wall Street estimates, with net sales up 9% to $6.61 billion, organic sales growth of 10%, and adjusted earnings per share of $1.42 versus a $1.30 FactSet estimate. GAAP EPS was $1.23. Management raised its fiscal 2026 outlook, guiding to adjusted EPS of approximately $5.05, up from about $4.85, and organic sales growth of roughly 8%, up from an earlier 6% forecast.

The upside was driven largely by sustained demand from data centers and other mission-critical facilities, cited as the primary catalyst behind order and backlog strength. Applied HVAC led the Americas segment, where sales grew 11% organically, while Asia Pacific's products and systems business grew about 20%.

Orders rose 27% organically company-wide, and total backlog reached $21.0 billion, up 32% organically; Americas backlog alone climbed to $15.9 billion, a 40% organic increase. For the fourth quarter, Johnson Controls guided to adjusted EPS of about $1.55, above a $1.52 consensus, with organic sales growth of 9% to 10%.

Shares traded modestly higher after the report. Investors will watch whether the data-center-driven order momentum extends into fiscal 2027 and whether margin expansion holds through the fourth quarter.
