The shareholders of STT Global Data Centres India, including KKR, Singtel and Tata Communications, are seeking a valuation above $5.5 billion for the business and have appointed advisers to run a sale, the Economic Times reported. Advisers and a timeline were not named. Kotak Neo reported the business is owned 74% by STT Telemedia and 26% by Tata Communications, with likely bidders including global data centre operators, Indian conglomerates and financial sponsors.

STT GDC India is one of the country's three largest colocation providers, with 34 data centres across 10 locations and 613 MW of capacity. Hyperscalers account for about 75% of revenue, and FY26 revenue rose 17.8% while profit fell 22.9%, per Venture Intelligence. The business had earlier been weighed at an IPO valuation of $6 billion to $7 billion, so the $5.5 billion floor sits below that range.

In a separate deal at the parent level, Singapore-based STT GDC is in talks with Standard Chartered, UOB, OCBC and DBS for a S$3.1 billion (US$2.4 billion) three-year syndicated loan to finance its assets, Bloomberg reported. It follows the completion in September of KKR and Singtel's S$6.6 billion buyout of STT GDC, and adds to more than $650 billion of debt raised for AI and data centre build-outs since the start of 2025.

What to watch: who bids for the India business, and whether the price clears $5.5 billion as India's data centre market draws global capital.
