NVIDIA and SK Group Announce $500 Billion Partnership for AI Infrastructure

NVIDIA and South Korea's SK Group unveiled an expanded strategic partnership valued at more than $500 billion to build out AI infrastructure in Korea, the companies said . Under the agreement, SK Telecom will construct a 2-gigawatt AI factory built on NVDA's DSX platform and Vera Rubin accelerated computing, powered by SK hynix's HBM4 memory, with the first facility targeted to come online in 2027.

Separately, SK hynix entered a long-term AI memory partnership with NVIDIA to secure supply of next-generation memory, including HBM, and to jointly develop and optimize future memory architectures for AI accelerators . The arrangement gives NVIDIA a more secure pipeline for the high-bandwidth memory its GPUs depend on, while SK hynix locks in demand visibility for a product line that has become central to AI datacenter buildouts. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said Korea has the networks, data centers, chip technology, and industrial scale to become a global AI powerhouse.

The deal reinforces NVIDIA's position at the center of the AI infrastructure buildout and deepens its ties to Korea's chip and telecom giants at a moment when AI capital spending itself is under investor scrutiny, echoing the broader chipmaker selloff that hit the Nasdaq this week.
