Nvidia RTX Spark laptops go on sale, putting a Blackwell-Grace superchip in Windows on Arm PCs

Laptops built on Nvidia's RTX Spark superchip, which pairs a Blackwell RTX GPU with a Grace Arm CPU, went on sale globally on October 16 from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI. Nvidia's launch release listed systems starting at $2,599. Adobe said it is adding RTX Spark support to Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D, while reviewers say the machines are aimed at creators and AI developers rather than mainstream buyers.

Laptops built on NVDA's RTX Spark platform went on sale globally on October 16, five months after Nvidia and MSFT announced them in May. RTX Spark is a single superchip combining a Blackwell RTX GPU with a Grace Arm CPU designed with MediaTek, offering up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance, and it runs Windows on Arm. Models come from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI, including the Surface Laptop Ultra, Dell XPS 16 and HP OmniBook Ultra.

Pricing is steep. Nvidia's launch release said systems start at $2,599, although a later Nvidia blog post cited $2,399 without naming a model. Reviewers frame the machines as tools for creators and AI developers who want to run large models offline, describing them as overpowered for everyday work and outside the budget of mainstream users for now, and as direct competition for high-end MacBook Pros.

Software support is the key to adoption on Arm. ADBE is adding RTX Spark support to Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D, claiming up to 2x faster AI processing and editing, and will showcase the work at Adobe MAX on November 10-12. Microsoft has tuned its Prism emulator so x86 apps run on the new chips.

For Nvidia, RTX Spark is a first serious push into PC CPUs, a market long dominated by INTC, AMD and Apple silicon. Early sales will be small given the price, so the signals to watch are app compatibility, reviews of battery life and gaming, and whether cheaper configurations follow.
