Nvidia, LG, and SKT Collaborate on AI Infrastructure and Physical AI

Nvidia and LG Group have unveiled an AI factory initiative for autonomous vehicles and robotics. SKT is aiming to become a leading AI cloud provider through a partnership with Nvidia. Both collaborations focus on building out AI infrastructure in South Korea.

Nvidia has announced a partnership with LG to build an AI factory for autonomous vehicles and robotics, advancing physical AI. The South Korean market is becoming a critical hub for Nvidia's expansion into AI infrastructure, with collaborations across multiple companies including LG and [Nvidia and Hyundai's deepened alliance is] focusing on robotaxis and physical AI. SK Telecom (SKT) is also building gigawatt-scale AI factories with Nvidia, aiming to become a leading AI cloud provider with its first operational facility expected in 2027.

These developments underscore the growing importance of South Korea as a center for AI innovation, with local companies and Nvidia investing heavily in new AI infrastructure and capabilities such as data centers (Nvidia plans to build new AI data centre in Saemangeum, Korea ).

This expansion comes as NVDA deepens its Korean footprint beyond LG and SKT. The company also signed a data center development agreement with the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency to build a new AI data center on South Korea's western coast. CEO Jensen Huang has described South Korea as a strategic priority for physical AI infrastructure, citing the nation's advanced semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem as a natural complement to Nvidia's GPU design capabilities. With South Korean companies including Samsung and SK Hynix supplying HBM memory critical to Nvidia's H100 and Blackwell GPU families, deepening local partnerships serves both supply chain resilience and customer development goals.
