Oklo Posts First Quarterly Revenue, Stock Rises After Revenue Beat

Oklo posted its first quarterly revenue of $1.2 million, beating analyst estimates of $0.1 million. Despite a wider loss, the company's stock price rose as the revenue beat offsets cash burn concerns. Oklo achieved a major milestone with its Groves reactor in Texas reaching first criticality. The company has $2.5 billion in cash with a quarterly burn rate of $17.9 million.

OKLO booked the first revenue in its history, $1.21 million against Wall Street estimates in the $70,000 to $130,000 range, and the stock rose on the print despite a wider loss,. The number is small in absolute terms. What it marks is the transition from a pre-revenue nuclear developer to one with a commercial line on the income statement.

The operational milestone landed a day earlier and matters more. Oklo achieved first criticality at its Groves isotope reactor in Texas, going from groundbreaking to criticality in 11 months, which the company describes as the fastest such transition for a privately funded full-scale reactor. Groves is also the first reactor developed under the Department of Energy's Reactor Pilot Program to reach criticality on privately owned land. Separately, the DOE approved the preliminary documented safety analysis for Aurora-INL, a required step toward construction and startup, with the company reiterating a 2028 target.

Funding is not the near-term constraint. Oklo ended the quarter with just over $3 billion in cash and marketable securities against a quarterly burn in the high teens of millions , which buys years of runway to convert milestones into contracted output. First isotope revenue is guided to early 2027, likely from the Idaho Radiochemistry Laboratory, with Groves expected to produce research-and-development quantities of isotopes within roughly 12 months.

What to watch: whether isotope revenue arrives on the early-2027 guide, the pace of construction spend, which stepped up sharply this quarter, and Aurora-INL progress against the 2028 startup date.
