OKXICE, a 50-50 joint venture between OKX and NYSE owner Intercontinental Exchange, filed an SEC notice on Oct. 4 to offer round-the-clock on-chain trading of tokenized versions of 63 U.S.-listed stocks, including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla. Trading would run in permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on OKX's X Layer network against stablecoins, under the SEC's five-year exemption issued Sept. 17. No launch date is set, and issuers have 30 days to object; Cerebras already has.

OKXICE, a 50-50 joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, filed a notice with the SEC on Oct. 4 to run a venue for round-the-clock trading of tokenized U.S. stocks. The filing covers 63 stocks, including NVDA, AAPL, MSFT and TSLA, while Reuters, CoinDesk and Decrypt describe the list as more than 60 names. Several early reports called them NYSE-listed, but Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Tesla trade on Nasdaq; the SEC framework covers U.S.-listed stocks generally.

The venue relies on the SEC's Sept. 17 exemption for tokenized stocks, which consists of two conditional five-year exemptions expiring Sept. 17, 2031, according to a Sullivan & Cromwell summary of the order. The filing is a notice under that exemption, not an SEC approval of the venue. Each token is paired with the USDC, USDG or USDT stablecoins and trades in permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on X Layer, OKX's own blockchain. Token holders are to receive the same dividend and voting rights as ordinary shareholders.

No launch date has been set, and issuers have 30 days to object to third-party tokenization of their shares. Cerebras has already filed an objection, according to Decrypt and CoinDesk, so the final list may shrink. The venture builds on ICE's minority investment in OKX in March 2026 at a valuation of about $25 billion.

What to watch: further issuer objections during the 30-day window, any SEC response, and whether the on-chain pools attract enough liquidity to support weekend and overnight trading. Crypto commentators framed the filing as a major step for tokenization, and it is one of the first real tests of how far the SEC's exemption can bring U.S. equities on-chain.
