OpenAI Names Dali Rajic Chief Revenue Officer as Commercial Leadership Churns

OpenAI has appointed a new CFO, formed partnerships with IBM and other companies, and expanded its enterprise AI push. Denise Dresser, the company's former revenue chief, has left the organization. OpenAI is moving forward with its growth plans despite this recent executive departure.

OpenAI appointed Dali Rajic, formerly president and chief operating officer of security firm Wiz, as chief revenue officer on August 13 . Several early reports described the hire as a chief financial officer appointment; the company's own announcement and subsequent coverage confirm the role is the revenue seat, not finance .

Rajic replaces Denise Dresser, who is leaving after roughly eight months in the job having joined in December 2025 . It is the second senior departure of that week, following chief operating officer Brad Lightcap's exit on August 11 . Two changes at the top of the commercial organization within days is the part worth noting, because the enterprise motion is the revenue line most exposed to execution risk as OpenAI scales paid seats.

Separately, IBM IBM and OpenAI announced an enterprise partnership on August 13 that embeds OpenAI models into IBM Consulting Advantage, with terms undisclosed . A $240 million infrastructure deal circulating in the same news window belongs to IBM and Together AI, announced August 11 for an Nvidia-powered inference cluster on IBM Cloud, and does not involve OpenAI .

For public markets the read-through lands on the enterprise AI channel rather than OpenAI's own economics. IBM is putting its consulting distribution behind OpenAI models, which competes directly with the Copilot motion at MSFT, OpenAI's largest investor and infrastructure partner. What to watch is whether the commercial leadership turnover slows enterprise deal velocity into the back half of the year.
