Oracle Adds Cleveland Clinic CEO Mihaljevic to Board of Directors

ORCL Oracle has appointed Tomislav Mihaljevic, M.D., the CEO of Cleveland Clinic, to its board of directors effective May 2026. The appointment reinforces Oracle's deepening commitment to healthcare technology, a segment where the company has invested heavily since its $28.3 billion acquisition of Cerner in 2022, rebranded as Oracle Health.

Mihaljevic has led Cleveland Clinic since 2017, growing the institution into one of the world's top-ranked hospital systems with annual revenues exceeding $14 billion. His appointment to Oracle's board signals that CEO Larry Ellison views clinical AI and electronic health records as a strategic growth pillar. Oracle Health has been developing AI-powered clinical documentation tools, ambient listening technology for physician charting, and diagnostic AI models designed to reduce administrative burden across hospital systems.

The move comes as Oracle faces competition in healthcare IT from Epic Systems — the market leader in hospital EHR — and from Microsoft, which has integrated Azure AI across clinical workflows through its Nuance acquisition.
