Details of the phone's design have been shared in 3D CAD rendering files from Sonny Dickson. CAD drawings have also been released revealing the design from multiple angles, with the iPhone Fold expected to look distinct from rival foldables.

Reliable Apple leaker Sonny Dickson shared purported 3D CAD rendering files of the iPhone Fold on X, revealing a book-style foldable design that unfolds into a wider, tablet-like form factor rather than the taller aspect ratios seen in Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series . The renders show a wide horizontal camera module across the rear panel with two lenses and a flash.

According to the leaked specifications, the inner display measures approximately 7.8 inches while the outer cover screen comes in just under 5.3 inches . The phone features rounded corners on two sides and squared-off edges where the hinge is located, with a small punch-hole camera in the top-left corner of the inner display. Supply chain leaks from January suggest the hinge may be constructed from liquid metal.

AAPL is expected to launch the iPhone Fold in September 2026, which would mark the company's first entry into the foldable smartphone market.
