State Street Secures Fund Administration License in Saudi Arabia

State Street has obtained a fund administration license in Saudi Arabia from the Capital Market Authority. The license allows the company to manage investment and operating funds within the local market. This move expands State Street's presence in the region.

State Street STT has secured a fund administration license in Saudi Arabia, with its subsidiary State Street Saudi Arabia Financial Solutions upgrading to a Managing Investment and Operating Funds (MIOF) license from the Capital Market Authority. The new operating-funds component lets the firm formally offer local fund administration, completing an end-to-end investment-servicing model in the kingdom.

The expanded license covers core asset-servicing functions including fund accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, investment compliance monitoring, and tax reporting. State Street is positioning to capture rising demand for local servicing capabilities as Saudi Arabia builds out its capital markets under the Vision 2030 diversification agenda.

For STT, the move is incremental rather than transformative, but it deepens the firm's footprint in one of the fastest-growing asset-servicing regions and supports its strategy of expanding fee-based servicing revenue beyond mature Western markets. Investors will watch whether State Street can convert the license into meaningful local mandates and assets under administration, and how quickly the Gulf opportunity contributes to its servicing fee base.
