Teradyne TER was awarded a $139.9 million firm-fixed-price U.S. Air Force contract to supply diagnostic automatic test station kits for defense use, disclosed on June 10. The kits bundle standardized, commercially available test equipment, components and software used to maintain military systems.

Work will be performed at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, with an expected completion date in June 2031, and the award was a sole-source acquisition. The multi-year, single-source structure gives Teradyne defined revenue visibility and underscores its established position supplying test systems to defense programs.

The contract is modest relative to Teradyne's overall revenue but diversifies the company beyond its core semiconductor and electronics test markets, which are more exposed to chip-cycle swings. Investors will watch whether defense wins like this become a recurring, counter-cyclical contributor.
