Uber Nears €12.5b Deal to Acquire Delivery Hero

Uber is close to acquiring Delivery Hero for €12.5 billion, potentially reshaping the food delivery landscape. The deal involves Delivery Hero divesting Turkish and some European operations. Delivery Hero's current offer is reportedly €41 per share.

UBER is nearing a roughly €12.5 billion deal to acquire German food-delivery group Delivery Hero at about €41 per share, with an announcement possible as early as this week . Delivery Hero confirmed on July 14 that it was in "advanced negotiations" with Uber.

Uber, which already owns about 19.5% of Delivery Hero and holds options for a further 5.6%, first approached the company in May at roughly €33 per share . To ease antitrust concerns, the proposed structure carves out Delivery Hero's Turkish unit and some European operations to a separate buyer .

The move would hand Uber an instant delivery footprint across Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, countering rival DoorDash, which bought Deliveroo in 2025. Investors will watch for final terms, multi-jurisdiction regulatory review, and integration risk, as sources cautioned the terms and timing are not yet confirmed and could still change.
