Vertiv Completes Acquisition of ThermoKey for AI Data Center Cooling

Vertiv (VRT) completed its acquisition of ThermoKey, strengthening its thermal-management platform for AI data centers and expanding its heat-rejection portfolio. The deal deepens Vertiv's position in one of the fastest-growing corners of the AI infrastructure buildout: cooling the dense, power-hungry server racks that train and run large AI models.

ThermoKey adds engineering and manufacturing capability in heat-exchange and liquid-cooling technologies, areas that have become critical bottlenecks as chip thermal-design power climbs with each new generation of AI accelerators. By owning more of the cooling stack, Vertiv aims to capture a larger share of data-center capital budgets and offer integrated power-and-cooling solutions to hyperscale and enterprise customers.

The acquisition positions VRT to benefit from sustained AI data-center capex, though integration execution and competition from rivals expanding into liquid cooling remain factors to watch. Investors will look for the deal's contribution to Vertiv's order pipeline and margins in upcoming results.
